Board Chairman Louis Tallarini said of the news, “Every year the Italian Language Foundation works closely with the College Board, supporting AP study growth through our annual AP teacher workshops, as well as offering student incentives through our annually granted Dante Awards. It is truly rewarding to see such an impressive increase from 2017 to 2018.”
“AP Italian Language and Culture remains the fastest growing AP world language course and exam,” said The College Board’s Senior Vice President, AP and Instruction, Trevor Packer. “Both participation and performance in AP Italian Language and Culture continue to grow in tandem. This is a victory shared by students, teachers, and great partners like the Italian Language Foundation.”
Students and teachers of AP Italian Language and Culture can expect more support from the Italian Language Foundation in the years ahead. Said Dr. Cuomo; “Italian language and culture are beloved throughout the USA. The Italian Language Foundation will continue to support the growth of AP Italian through its grants to AP students, and its professional development opportunities for teachers of Italian.”
