Webinar Title: Italian Art in the pre-AP and AP Classes.
We all appreciate the Renaissance. It is a glorious artistic period that perfectly fits our language and culture curriculum. Hence, you might have concerns about the use of “unconventional” Italian art in our classes. But art is art is art, and masterpieces are everywhere.
In this one-hour webinar we will use artworks created without the restraints of traditional practices and materials to teach the Italian language and culture in pre–AP and AP courses.
About the Facilitator: Antonietta Di Pietro, Ph.D. in Atlantic History. She holds two Master’s degrees, the first in History, and the second one in Italian Pedagogy. She is active as a certified ACTFL OPI and OPIc tester. From 2016 to 2020, she served as co-chair of the Advanced Placement Italian Language Development Committee. She has also been serving as AP Italian Question Leader and Exam Leader in the AP Reading since 2013. Professor Di Pietro teaches humanities and Italian courses at Emory University.
