Contemporary American and Italian literature

Non sono il tipo di persona che passa troppo tempo sui libri, soprattutto sui romanzi. A volte ne leggo qualcuno, ma solo quando non ho nulla da fare. Tuttavia, un giorno mi è capitato di leggere un giallo che mi ha conquistato. Quel libro era scritto da Agatha Christie, ed era molto interessante. “Assassinio sull’Orient Express” era il nome del libro che ho letto. Da quel momento, i gialli hanno iniziato ad attirarmi, e da quel omento Agatha Christie è diventata la mia scrittrice preferita. Lo è diventata perché mi piace davvero il modo in cui scrive. Mi piace il suo modo di scrivere molto coinciso, adoro il suo modo di ingannare il lettore. la consiglio un sacco e spero che ti andrai a leggere “Assassinio sull’Orient Express” o un suo qualsiasi libro dopo tutto quello che ho scritto.

I’m not the type of person that spends too much time on books, especially romance. Sometimes I read some, but only when I have nothing to do. Although one day it happened to me to read a crime fiction book, that won me over. That book was written by Agatha Christie, it was very interesting. Murder on the Orient Express was the name of the book I read. After that, crime fiction books started to attract me, and Agatha Christie became my favorite writer. She became my favorite writer because I really like the manner in which she wrote. I like her conciseness, I also like her way of deceiving the reader. Indeed, I recommend her, and I hope you’ll read Murder on the Orient Express after all I wrote about.
Another exciting book of hers is The Mirror Crack’d from Side to Side, a very interesting detective story etc. She has so many neglected books that really can captivate you, you should take a look. There’s no harm in trying.

Hazel Riley – An Italian saga

My name is Maria Angela, I attend the fourth year at CIOFS-FP Lombardia. My favorite writer is Hazel Riley because I like her way of writing, the characters she creates and one of these characters represents me as a person. Hazel Riley (pseudonym of Maria Claudia) is an Italian writer of Sardinian origins, born in 1997. She has been writing for as long as she can remember and at the age of fifteen, she began publishing her stories on Wattpad. She graduated in Communication Studies and now she is studying Marketing. She continues to cultivate her passion for writing, and she reads many novels. She has written a saga that consists of 5 books and the first three were released in bookstores in 2023 and 2024: Game of Gods – Descent to the Underworld, Game of Titans – Rise from Heaven, and Game of Chaos – Redemption.
The setting is the school and Mount Olympus. The storyline is about 5 teenagers (Hades, Hermes, Apollo, Aphrodite and Athena) obsessed with Greek mythology, who every Friday play a game in which you participate by invitation. As a genre there is a dash of dark romance, fantasy romance and found family. The first two books tell the story of the main characters (Haven and Hades) and the last three are the spin-offs of the other characters.
“I’m afraid people don’t care about what I have to say. I don’t talk about how I feel because I’m afraid people would interrupt me. Judge it. Boring. Stupid. Banal. Worthless. A waste of time” is the quote that best represents me because I am afraid of being judged and that people can’t understand me.

La mia scrittrice preferita è Hazel Riley perché mi piace il suo modo di scrivere, i personaggi che realizza e uno di questi personaggi mi rappresenta molto come persona. Hazel Riley (pseudonimo di Maria Claudia) è una scrittrice italiana di origine sarda, nata nel 1997. Scrive da quando ne ha memoria e all’età di quindici anni comincia a pubblicare le sue storie su Wattpad. Laureata in Comunicazione, continua a coltivare la passione per la scrittura, legge tanti romanzi e studia Marketing. Ha scritto una saga che è composta da 5 libri e i primi tre sono usciti in libreria nel 2023 e 2024: Game of Gods – Discesa agli Inferi, Game of Titans – Ascesa dal Paradiso e Game of Chaos – Redensione.
L’ambientazione è tra la scuola e il monte Olimpo. La trama tratta di 5 ragazzi (Hades, Hermes, Apollo, Aphrodite e Athena) ossessionati dalla mitologia greca che per questo motivo ogni venerdì fanno dei giochi a cui si partecipa su invito. Come genere c’è un pizzico di dark romance, fantasy romance e found family. I primi due libri della saga raccontano la storia dei protagonisti (Haven e Hades) e gli ultimi tre invece sono gli spin-off degli altri personaggi.
“Ho paura che alle persone non interessi ciò che ho da dire. Non parlo di quello che provo perché temo che la gente possa interrompermi. Giudicarlo. Noioso. Stupido. Banale. Privo di valore. Una perdita di tempo” è la frase che mi rappresenta di più a livello personale per la paura di essere giudicata e che le persone non mi capiscano.

My name is Safarov Ramin, and I would like to introduce myself. I am a 15-year-old student at Enaip Noale, currently at my first course of Informatics. I arrived here about six months ago and don’t have any hobbies yet, however I used to be interested in various sports such as football, swimming, and judo. The reason I am writing to you is the desire to improve my English skills.
Literature is one of the most important things in the world. It helps us understand different cultures, emotions, and ideas. Even if we didn’t read any certain books, we can still appreciate their significance and role in our lives. Both American and Italian literature have many famous authors that write about various themes such as friendship, romance, history, and so on. Books increase our knowledge and present different points of view.
In American literature, a well-known writer is Donna Tartt. One of her books, The Goldfinch, tells the story of a boy who loses his mother and goes through many challenges in life. Many readers say this book makes them think about loss and how people deal with different situations. Even without reading, it reflects the idea to never give up and make us known with situations that may happen in real life.
In Italian literature, Elena Ferrante is a famous writer. Her series My Brilliant Friend focuses on two girls growing up in Naples and their lifelong friendship. This story is known for showing how people change over time and how our childhood affects us. Many readers like it because it talks about ambition, jealousy, and friendship.
Even if I didn’t read these books, I really reckon that literature takes a big part in our lives. Even in America, Italy, or anywhere else, it opens us to the world from different points of view and develops a lot of various skills.

Mi chiamo Safarov Ramin e vorrei presentarmi. Sono uno studente di 15 anni dell’Enaip Noale, attualmente al mio primo corso di Informatica. Sono arrivato qui circa sei mesi fa e non ho ancora hobby, tuttavia in passato mi interesso a vari sport come il calcio, il nuoto e il judo. Il motivo per cui vi scrivo è il desiderio di migliorare il mio inglese.
La letteratura è una delle cose più importanti al mondo. Ci aiuta a comprendere culture, emozioni e idee diverse. Anche se non leggiamo determinati libri, possiamo comunque apprezzarne l’importanza e il ruolo nelle nostre vite. Sia la letteratura americana che quella italiana hanno molti autori famosi che scrivono su vari temi come l’amicizia, il romanticismo, la storia e così via. I libri aumentano la nostra conoscenza e ci presentano diversi punti di vista.
Nella letteratura americana, una scrittrice molto conosciuta è Donna Tartt. Uno dei suoi libri, Il Cardellino, racconta la storia di un ragazzo che perde sua madre e affronta molte sfide nella vita. Molti lettori affermano che questo libro li fa riflettere sulla perdita e su come le persone affrontano situazioni difficili. Anche senza leggerlo, trasmette l’idea di non arrendersi mai e ci fa conoscere situazioni che possono accadere nella vita reale.
Nella letteratura italiana, Elena Ferrante è una scrittrice famosa. La sua serie L’amica geniale si concentra su due ragazze che crescono a Napoli e sulla loro amicizia duratura. Questa storia è conosciuta per il modo in cui mostra come le persone cambiano nel tempo e come l’infanzia influisca su di noi. Molti lettori la apprezzano perché parla di ambizione, gelosia e amicizia.
Anche se non ho letto questi libri, credo davvero che la letteratura abbia un ruolo fondamentale nelle nostre vite. Che sia in America, in Italia o altrove, ci apre al mondo attraverso prospettive diverse e ci aiuta a sviluppare molte capacità.c
Contemporary American and Italian literature

Honestly, I don’t know much about Italian literature, but I can name a few great poets from the past, for example: Giuseppe Ungaretti, Dante Alighieri, Giovanni Pascoli and Giacomo Leopardi. However, I really like reading manga. This type of book is simplified, and I have a collection of different genres.
When I was a child, I tried reading one of my sister’s manga, and I was shocked. It was easier for me to read a manga compared to a regular book because there are more drawings and fewer words (sometimes in Japanese).
My first manga was Fairy Tail (written by Hiro Mashima). After reading the 13 volumes my sister had, I decided to buy the entire series, and today it is my favorite. The story is about a girl who arrives in a city called Magnolia with a dream: to join one of the most important wizard guilds, Fairy Tail.
Another type of manga I like to read is YAOI. Yaoi is a genre that tells the story of two boys, where one is often shy and the other is a brave and extroverted. In the end, they usually get together. One of my dreams is to have a giant library full of manga so I can read whenever I want

Ciao a tutti; sono Lorenzo Sgnaolin, vengo da Venezia e ho sedici anni. Sono uno studente presso la scuola Enaip di Noale, sono un ragazzo timido e amichevole, ma allo stesso tempo, sono divertente e un po’ estroverso.
Onestamente, non so molto di letteratura italiana ma posso citare alcuni grandi poeti del passato, per esempio: Giuseppe Ungaretti, Dante Alighieri, Giovanni Pascoli and Giacomo Leopardi. Tuttavia mi piace molto leggere i manga, un tipo di libro semplificato. Ho una libreria con molti di questi libri di diversi generi.
Quando ero bambino, ho provato a leggere un manga di mia sorella e ne sono rimasto scioccato. Per me era più facile leggere un manga rispetto a un libro, perchè ci sono più disegni e meno parole (a volte in giapponese).
Il mio primo manga è stato Fairy tail (scritto da Hiro Mashima). Dopo aver letto i 13 volumi che aveva mia sorella, ho deciso di acquistare l’intera saga ed oggi è il mio preferito. La storia parla di una ragazza arriva in una città chiamata Magnolia con un sogno: entrare in una delle gilde dei maghi più important, Fairy Tail.
Un altro tipo di manga che mi piace leggere è lo Yaoi. Lo Yaoi racconta storie d’amore tra due ragazzi, in cui spesso uno è timido e l’altro è coraggioso ed estroverso. Alla fine della storia si mettono insieme. Uno dei miei sogni è avere una biblioteca gigantesca piena di manga da leggere quando voglio.
